#11, January 2001

 

Although my work usually comes from a "diaristic" impulse--let's see what the pool of the unknown will give today--the year 2001 had several painting "projects."  The first project came from the desire to put my 1951 Stories on the net, the second came from an invitation from Will Wadlington, the Assistant Director of Counseling Services at Penn State University, to give a presentation How I Make a Painting at the 2001 Annual Meeting of the American Psychological Association to be held in San Francisco that year.  One of the paintings made as illustrations for the 1951 Stories is #7a, March 2001 below.  The two paintings made as demonstrations of How I Make a Painting are #s 2 and 3, May 2001 also below.
